Birnin Kudu Local Government Council of Jigawa State says it has sponsored the education of over 220 students within and outside the local government area in the last two years.

The Council Chairman, Dr. Builder Muhammad Uba, stated this while briefing newsmen in Dutse.

According to him, some of the students are studying in Birnin Kudu, Kazaure, Jama’are, and Azare in Bauchi State.

Dr. Uba further explained that the council has also supported more than 150 teachers currently studying at the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI).

He revealed that the local government has secured approval to establish a study centre for Gumel College of Education to offer degree programmes.

The Chairman added that the council recently completed the verification of BKD teachers to authenticate their credentials.

He also disclosed that the local government has distributed JAMB forms to students for the 2025 admission exercise.

Dr. Uba said renovation work on the local government secretariat is expected to be completed within the next four months to improve administrative efficiency.

He therefore urged residents of the area to continue supporting government policies and programmes to achieve sustainable development.
