Retirees of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Kaduna have called for effective mobilization of pensioners nationwide for a peaceful protest this month if their outstanding benefits are not paid as promised by tomorrow.

The senior citizens, speaking on the lingering issue, reminded the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) of its pledge to settle the arrears within two weeks a deadline that expires tomorrow.

They lamented that the patience of retirees has been exhausted and vowed to resist any further delay in the payment of the outstanding entitlements, for which the Federal Government had reportedly released twenty billion naira.

One of the retirees, Alhaji Muktari Muhammad Katsina of the NTA, expressed disappointment over the continued delay in paying arrears, including COVID-19 palliatives owed to retirees for years.

Alhaji Muktari Muhammad Katsina was however delighted that efforts of the coalition of FRCN Senior Citizens had been intensified to by the leadership compel relevant authorities to pay the benefits and assured necessary support to achieve desired objectives.
