Niger State Police Command has assured people of the state of its readiness to continue to protect the identity of individual and groups that volunteered to provide them with credible intelligence that will accelerate its quest of protecting lives and properties of Niger lites.
The Police in Niger state and indeed Nigeria are professionals and would therefore continue to act and behave intelligently and professionally inline with its principle of secrecy of not disclosing their source of information to achieve maximum results.
Commissioner of Police In Charge of Niger state Adamu Abdullahi Elleman who gave the assurance while interacting with Newsmen in Minna, explained that just recently he had attended a workshop organized by police headquarters on Informant and Information to further enhance his professionalism in service.
Adamu Abdullahi Elleman however attributed the reduction in criminal activities in Minna the state capital to credible information received from public, support from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Niger state Government under the leadership of Governor Umar Bago, traditional rulers and his decision to in most cases embark on security patrol in Minna, which was supported by the DPO’S and Area Commanders.
According to him as a result of this deliberate effort many miscreants that hitherto engaged in thuggery, free for all fight and snatching of handset from innocent people were arrested, prosecuted and jailed to serve as deterrent to others.
Adamu Abdullahi Elleman further said he had also warned District and Village Heads in the area against aiding and abetting miscreants that engage in criminal activities as any one caught will be prosecuted a long with the bad eggs, which he said had been yielding positive results.
The Commissioner of Police In Charge of Niger state, commended the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Halima Ibrahim for her support in speedy dispensation of Justice, with robust synergy existing between police and other sister security organizations in addition to renewed commitment on the part of his officers and men in fighting crime and criminality throughout the nooks and crannies of the state.
Adamu Abdullahi Elleman also added that under his watch as the new Commissioner of Police In Charge of Niger state, the welfare of officers and men of his command remain his top most priority towards boosting their morale for effective service delivery.
