President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to empowering Nigerians through policies and programmes designed to address the key drivers of insecurity.

He made this known in a message to the Passing Out Parade and Commissioning Ceremony of Cadets of the 72nd Regular Course, Short Service Course 48 (Army), Direct Short Service Course 33 (Air Force), and Branch Commission 2 (Air Force), held at the Nigerian Defence Academy’s permanent site in Afaka, Kaduna State.

Represented by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the President highlighted his administration’s commitment to job creation, macroeconomic stability, human capital development, poverty alleviation and social security.

He pointed out that Nigeria’s continental and regional leadership role would continue to be upheld and intensified, with efforts to strengthen partnerships for democracy, development, peace and security.

President Bola Tinubu expressed delight over the Academy’s recent overhaul of training curricula and methodologies to align with contemporary operational environments.

He pointed out that over the years, the NDA has undergone various stages of growth and development towards improving the operational capabilities of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The President charged the graduating cadets to prevent the collapse of the economy and secure the core values of the nation in accordance with the virtues instilled in the at the Academy.

He also charged them to replicate the social cohesion they experienced during their stay at the Academy and be the unified and incorruptible models of those they were trained to protect.

He therefore congratulated the cadets and their families and urged them to rededicate themselves to the service of Nigeria.

A total of eight hundred and seventy-four cadets passed out.

Highpoint of the event was the presentation of awards and medals to deserving cadets.

The event had in attendance, members of the National and State Houses of Assembly, Governors, serving and retired senior officers among others.
