The National Population Commission-NPC says the upcoming census exercise will be a landmark event as Nigeria’s first digital census.
Federal Commissioner representing Kaduna State at the Commission, Hajiya Sa’adatu Garba Dogonbauchi disclosed this during a sensitization visit to Zangon Kataf LGA on the upcoming exercise.

Hajiya Sa’adatu Garba Dogonbauchi explained that by leveraging biometric technology, the NPC would ensure everyone is counted only once and in their exact location, thereby eliminating double-counting and inaccuracies of the past.
She pointed out that the primary goal was to generate precise demographic data to foster sustainable national growth and development.

The Federal Commissioner maintained that the Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics-ECRVS system was critical in registering births and deaths for effective national planning, enabling better understanding of public health trends and informed allocation of resources.
In a remark Executive Chairman of Zangon Kataf LGA, Joseph Bege expressed unwavering support for the initiative, and emphasized the urgent need for an accurate population index to adequately address the overstretching of public amenities and plan for community needs.
