The Kano State Government KNSG has reiterated its commitment to the welfare and inclusion of persons with special needs, particularly those living with spinal cord injuries.

Represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and People with Special Needs, Amb. Amina Sani Abdullahi.
Amb. Abdullahi emphasized the administration’s dedication to building an inclusive society where people with disabilities are treated with dignity and provided equal opportunities.
She further announced plans by the state to establish a Commission for Persons with Special Needs to institutionalize disability inclusion and ensure related issues remain central to government policies and programs.
The commissioner commended the resilience and courage of spinal cord injury survivors, urging them to embrace their condition with faith, hope, and determination.
Also speaking at the event, the acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Inuwa Idris Yakasai, who represented the commissioner, encouraged survivors to remain hopeful and resilient.
He applauded the sacrifices of family members who provide care and emotional support to their loved ones.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Spinal Cord Injury Association, Abdulrahaman Uba Daushe, commended the Kano State Government for its support and called for sustained efforts to guarantee inclusion, accessibility, and respect for people with disabilities across the state.
To support daily living, the Ministry distributed assistive devices, including wheelchairs, walking sticks, and adult diapers, to individuals with spinal cord injuries.
The celebration, themed “Fall Prevention and Spinal Cord Protection,” attracted a large turnout of stakeholders, including traditional leaders, Islamic scholars, health professionals, and representatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps, all united in advancing the wellbeing of spinal cord injury survivors.
The event reinforced the government’s commitment to promoting disability rights, inclusive development, and a compassionate society.
