The Chairman of Senator Marafa Support Group, Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako, says the resignation of Senator Kabir Garba Marafa from the All Progressives Congress, APC has further strengthened his political base and reaffirmed the loyalty of his supporters.

In a statement personally signed by him, Alhaji Maikatako explained that Senator Marafa’s decision to leave the APC was not a personal move but a collective decision taken after wide consultation with his supporters.

He said since the announcement, the group has been receiving overwhelming solidarity messages and visits from across Zamfara, the North West, and beyond, with many expressing readiness to align with the new political direction.

According to him, the development is a blessing in disguise and a turning point in their political journey.

Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako described Senator Marafa as one of the most principled and visionary leaders whose politics is anchored on justice, integrity, and service to the people.

Alhaji Maikatako further stated that contrary to claims by APC leaders in Zamfara, Senator Marafa still enjoys massive grassroots support, adding that the party remains unsettled by his exit.

He alleged that the APC in Zamfara has lost political relevance, insisting that, those being paraded as replacements for Senator Marafa lack grassroots appeal and cannot deliver future elections for the party.

The Chairman of the group also attributed Senator Marafa’s exit to the alleged failure of the President Bola Tinubu to fulfill campaign promises, particularly on insecurity in Zamfara State, despite the Senator’s role as State Campaign Coordinator in the 2023 general elections.

He emphasized that their movement is now preparing for what he described as a historic presidential campaign, urging supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to join in reclaiming democracy and restoring integrity in governance.
