In an effort to enhance healthcare awareness in urban and rural communities of Malam Madori, the Local Government Council has trained 50 women and adolescent girls on menstrual hygiene for them to sanitise themselves against reproductive diseases.

The Coordinator of the Program, Malam Ali Haruna said, the participants were drawn from each ward of the area.

According to him, the training was aimed to train the participants on how to make local pad for them to reduce expenses and fight urinary tract infections.

Also speaking, the Head of Department Water and Sanitation, Malam Shehu sani Gwadayi noted that, hygiene is very vital to humans for them to improve their livelihood and enhance their immune system.

In his speech, the Deputy Head of Department, water and sanitation, Malam Muhammad Abdullahi has Briefed the participants on the importance of menstrual hygiene to avoid contact with diseases.

The council Chairman of Malam madori local council, Alhaji Salisu sani Garun gabas urged the participants to pay more attention of the practical aspects during the training on how to make local pad.

Garun Gabas who was represented by Vice Chairman, Hajiya Amina Dokajo urged them to use the pads in order to avoid contact with diseases especially those related to urinary tract infections.
