An inspection team made up of engineers and officials from the Kano State Ministry of Education has visited Gwarzo Local Government Area to kick-start a major educational project that promises to transform learning opportunities for young people in the region.

The project, approved by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, involves the release of ₦912 million for the conversion of the Vocational Training School at Unguwar Riga, Gwarzo, into a Government Technical College.

According to the Ministry, the new college will feature modern classrooms, fully furnished student hostels, state-of-the-art laboratories, and staff residential quarters.

The facilities are expected to provide a conducive teaching and learning environment , while significantly raising the standard of technical education in the area.

Speaking during the delegation’s visit, Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government, Dr. Mani Tsoho, described the development as a milestone achievement.

He noted that the project would not only benefit the people of Gwarzo but also strengthen Kano State’s position as a hub of educational excellence.

Dr. Tsoho further assured that the local government would fully cooperate with the state to ensure the timely execution and effective monitoring of the project.

The initiative is part of Governor Yusuf’s broader education reform agenda, which places special emphasis on vocational and technical training.

The government said its goal is to equip young people with practical skills and knowledge that will make them self-reliant, innovative, and productive contributors to Kano State’s socio-economic growth.
