Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing remodelling of IBB Specialist Hospital Minna.

The Governor stated this after inspecting the expansion of the hospital in Minna, and commended the contractors handling the project for executing a thorough job.

Umar Bago used the avenue to re affirmed the commitment of his administration in revamping the health sector to enable Niger lites have access to quality and affordable health care services in the state.

The Governor had earlier declared a State of Emergency in the health sector and consequently embarked on rigorous renovations, reconstructions, and remodelling of health institutions in the state.

The IBB Specialist Hospital Minna is undergoing total remodelling with areas such as the Accident /Emergency Unit, General Outpatients Department, Intensive Care Unit, Doctor’s Call Rooms/Nurses’ Stations, and VIP Units already completely renovated and equipped with modern medical facilities.

The remodelling of the hospital has also paved the way for a multispecialty clinic patients waiting area with 3 additional Doctors’ consulting rooms conversion and expansion of the ENT unit to an intensive care unit

The emergency unit and VIP wards have also been remodelled and equipped with the construction of two semi-detached 2-bedroom doctors’ quarters with a 42,000-litre overhead water tank and reactivation of an additional motorized borehole also completed.

Other areas covered include the procurement of Elizer machine for blood screening according to the recommendation by the Nigerian National Blood Services, procurement of a New 100 KV generator for the NNPC multipurpose diagnostic center and a 300 KVA transformer amongst several other machines.
