while ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard in decision-making processes.

“The vision of this administration is to ensure people participate in governance. We want our citizens to contribute their ideas and suggestions for the collective progress of the state,” .

He added that the council would help bridge the gap between leadership and the governed by fostering fairness and incorporating diverse perspectives into government policies.

Earlier, the Secretary of the Shurah Council, Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi, announced the appointment of the Waziri of Kano, Sheikh Sa’ad Shehu Gidado, as Chairman of the council, with Professor Sani Zaharaddeen as Vice Chairman.

The council is composed of 67 other members drawn from across the 44 local government areas of Kano, including prominent Islamic scholars, professionals, business leaders, and community representatives.

Officials said the broad membership was deliberately structured to give the council legitimacy and to ensure that its recommendations reflect the interests of all citizens.
