Twenty nine bodies have been recovered, while fifty persons have been rescued in a boat mishap that occured at Gausawa community in Malale ward of Borgu Local Government Area of Niger state.

The incident occured yesterday while conveying ninety people including women and children.

They passengers were heading to Dugga from Tugan Sule, Shagunu Ward for a condolence visit when the unfortunate incident occured.

Director General , Niger State Emergency Management Agency NSEMA, Abdullahi Baba Arah had earlier attributed the accident to overloading and collision with a tree stump.

Meanwhile search and rescue operations are still ongoing for possible recovery of missing persons.
