National Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria say the reappointment of Comrade Issa Aremu as Director General, Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies is a recognition of his contribution to worker’s education and Labour Administration.

General Secretary of the Union, Comrade Ali Baba made this known at a press briefing in kaduna on the reappointment of Comrade Aremu as Director General Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies in Ilorin, Kwara State.

He said the reappointment is a remarkable testimony and official acknowledgement of Comrade Aremu’s unwavering dedication, visionary leadership and outstanding contribution to Labour Education in Nigeria.

The General Secretary said the decision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reappoint Comrade Aremu signals a renewed opportunity for him to consolidate on gains made in advancing the labour institute as a center of excellence, research and policy advocacy.

Comrade Ali Baba who succeeded Comrade Issa Aremu as General Secretary of the National Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria said they are witnesses to the remarkable transformation and increased engagement of the Institute with National and International Stakeholders in the labour movement.

The union’s scribe further called on staff and other stakeholders of the Institute to give the Director General their utmost cooperation and support to ensure continued stability and growth of the Institute.

Comrade Ali Baba maintained that it was through collective commitment and professionalism that the institute would achieve the mandate of promoting decent work, industrial harmony and effective social dialogue in Nigeria.
