Advisers of Political Leaders in the country have been urged to justify their positions through quality and honest advice to move the nation forward as dividends of Democracy.
Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Senators Forum Senator Salisu Musa Matori who made the appeal noted that some of such advisers were not sincere in the discharge of their responsibilities for ulterior motives.
Senator Salisu Matori recalled committees established by a northern Governor to address socio-economic and infrastructural development issues, but was advised against effective implementation of reports of the committees.
He blamed corruption for underdevelopment of the country over the years, recalling also how it affected the Agricultural sector through manipulation of processes for exports of commodities such as groundnuts, cotton and cocoa, despite huge profits enjoyed by farmers development in the past.
Senator Salisu Matori, who stressed the need for policies he planned to implement to improve the welfare of the people, expressed concern that many retired workers have remained for years without receiving their entitlements due to manipulations that negatively affect the public service.
