Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State has said that 70 percent of bandits’ informants and collaborators live within towns and villages.

Governor Radda made this statement during the second anniversary special prayers organized in his honour by Muslim clerics in Katsina, the state capital.

He explained that these informants and collaborators are the ones fueling the insurgency by supplying food, hard drugs, petrol, and selling rustled animals on behalf of the bandits. They also help transport other essential items from the forest to people in the towns.

Radda added that the fight to end insecurity is a collective responsibility; therefore, the government alone cannot do it. “It requires the support of everyone, especially religious and political leaders.”

He also called for frequent prayers for lasting peace to prevail in the state and the country at large.

According to him, leadership is a trust, and as such, he will do his best to ensure that he does not abuse the trust and confidence bestowed on him by the electorate.

He decried the fact that some parents have children indiscriminately without properly training them, thereby leaving their future in the hands of society.

The governor noted that such children often end up as criminals due to poor parental upbringing, and he called on parents to instill moral values in their children.

Earlier, the Chairman of the second anniversary special prayer session organized in honour of the governor, Chief of Staff Malam Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, commended the governor for fulfilling 75 percent of his electioneering promises.

Mamman Nasir said ,the clerics organized the prayers for governor Radda to succeed in his administration became obvious.

Highlights of the events is the Recitation of Holy Qur’an and prayers by some selected Ulamas in the state.
