Yandakan Katsina, District Head of Dutsinma Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada

Moral values are defined as guiding principles that help individuals distinguish between right and wrong, fostering honesty, credibility, fairness, and sound judgment in daily relationships and decisions.

The Yandakan Katsina and District Head of Dutsinma, Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada, stated this during a community engagement and sensitization lecture held in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State, organized by the Gyara Kayanka Youth Development Association.

Represented by the Village Head of Shema, Alhaji Abubakar Abdulsalam, the royal father stated that parents must take full responsibility for their children’s behavior, stressing that many cases of juvenile delinquency stem from parental negligence and failure to instill moral discipline at home.

He also expressed shock over the involvement of children in activities that tarnish their image and that of their communities, including traffic violations, drug abuse, illegal businesses, political hooliganism, and unwholesome musical entertainment with MP3 players, instead of engaging in the pursuit of both Western and Islamic education.

According to him, many religions provide a set of moral and ethical principles that guide behavior and decision-making, helping individuals navigate complex ethical issues and make choices that align with their values.

The district head also attributed the recent calamities and social unrest affecting the state and the country at large to a lack of obedience to Almighty God (Allah) and failure to follow the teachings of the Prophet (Peace be upon him). He called for frequent prayers for lasting peace to prevail across the country.
