Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council, has officially appointed Comrade Usman Mohammed Zaria and  Comrade Sani Muhammad Gumel as Ex-Officio Members of the Council.

In a statement by the Council’s Secretary, Comrade Aisha Abba Ahmed, the appointments are in recognition of the duo’s professionalism, dedication, and significant contributions to journalism within and beyond Jigawa State.

The Council highlighted that both appointees have consistently demonstrated deep commitment to the Union’s mission and principles, making them well-suited for the advisory positions, which take effect immediately.

In their new capacities, Comrade Gumel and Comrade Usman will be expected to work closely with the Council to enhance its activities, offer strategic direction, and strengthen engagement efforts with stakeholders across the state.

The Council called on all members to support the new Ex-Officio Members in fulfilling their responsibilities and contributing to the growth of journalism in Jigawa State.
