Jigawa state Government says it has earmarked over twenty six percent of this year’s budget for the attainment of its education agenda.

Governor Umar Namadi stated this while launching the disbursement of school uniforms, sporting kits and materials at Government science senior secondary school jahun.

He explained that the state government has provided more than thirty thousand sets of school uniforms for distribution to girl child’s in public schools across the state.

According to him, the gesture is aimed at encouraging parents to send their female children to school for a brighter future.

Umar Namadi, therefore narrated some of the achievements recorded in the education sector that include the renovation, construction of schools, procurement of teaching and learning materials at primary, junior and senior secondary schools.

He reminded parents, guardians and teachers on the need to contribute their quota in improving teaching and learning in public schools.

Radio Nigeria reports that, some of the students expressed gratitude to the state government for the gesture and pledge to make good use of the donated items.
