Niger state Government has enforced a curfew in Minna the state capital on commercial motorcycle operators the Okada riders and Keke Napep drivers from six ln the evening to six in the morning daily.

State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago announced this today during a critical stakeholders holders meeting in Minna.

Mohammed Umar Bago explained that the decision to ban the movement of commercial Okada riders and Keke Napep drivers from 6pm to 6am daily is to mitigate cases of insecurity perpetuated by some miscreants in Minna the state capital that had consumed many lives.

He however said only those on serious medical attention are exempted from the ban on Okada and Keke Napep movements as the safety of lives of Niger lites and those residing in the state are of great importance to his government.

According the Niger state Governor any person found to have been carrying weapons in Minna, should be arrested and dealt with as an armed robber, while any attempt to harass a security personnel on duty he said is an attempt to harass the Niger state Government.

Governor Umar Bago also directed security agencies to arrest any youth with dreadlock on his hair, which he said should be barbed and a fine imposed on him to serve as deterrent to others.

On parents, he said they should warned their children as anyone caught violating the order will be dealt with decisively as the full wrath of the law will be applied to him.

Mohammed Umar Bago however added that under the current directive it is going to be one hundred percent enforcement that is fire for fire as enough is enough according to the Niger state Governor.
