The committee set up to screen preachers who will lead intending pilgrims from Katsina State has commenced its exercise at the headquarters of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board in Katsina.

Chairman of the Screening Committee, Sheikh Dr Aminu Abu Ammar, disclosed this while conducting the screening exercise for the clerics.

Dr Abu Amar said the screening was aimed at equipping the clerics with the knowledge and technicalities that would enable them to lead the intending pilgrims from the state to perform a successful, acceptable and hitch free 2025 Hajj exercise.

According to him, the exercise attract all the preachers sponsored by Katsina State Government from the 34 local government areas and pledged to ensure fairness and justice throughout the screening process.

He also commended the effort and maturity exhibited by the scholars during the exercise adding that, training and workshop would also be done to enable them update their knowledge.

Meanwhile the Executive Governor of the state Malam Dikko Umar Radda also has approved the commencement of the 2025 Hajji mandatory classes for the intending pilgrims in the state.

The mandatory classes exercise will commenced on monday 21/4/2025 to 5/5/2025 respectively.

According to the schedule of the bita programme, the mandatory classes will be conducted in all the seven zonal pilgrims offices across the state.

Members of the screening committee include Sheikh Aminu Abu Ammar as chairman, Sheikh Munir Ja’afar, Sheikh Dr. Nasir Ahmad Funtua, Dr. Sagir Adam and Malama Murja Duwan.
