Gumel Emirate Council says it will give the necessary support and cooperation needed for the development of Maigatari Export Free Zone in Jigawa state.

The Emir of Gumel Alhaji Ahmad Mohammad Sani made the remark when he received members of the State Committee on Maigatari export Free Zone at his palace.

He said, the emirate council will soon organise a meeting with District, Ward and Village heads to enlighten their subjects for their contributions needed for the success of the Zone.

The Emir who was represented by Dallatun Gumel, Alhaji Musa Ayuba said dry season farming project, Orthopedic Hospital and dialysis centre established by the Malam Umar Namadi lead administration in Gumel were projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people in the area.

Earlier the chairman, State Committee on export Free Zone and Commissioner of Budget and Statistics Alhaji Babangida Umar Gantsa said they were at the Emir’s palace to inform him on the achievements recorded and solicit for his fatherly cooperation and prayers.

Gantsa, added that the present administration have spent huge amount of money to acquire the Approval and Licence to make Maigatari export Free Zone fully operational.

Also speaking, the District head of Gumel Arewa, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Babandi appealed to the committee members to contact the agencies concerned for the rehabilitation of Federal road linking Gumel to Maigatari road for accessibility.
