Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has been advised to as a matter of urgency intervene in the over seventy five hectares of farmland dispute allegedly confiscated from its originl owner at Pangu Gari by the District Head of Tegina in Rafi Local Government Area.

The Chief Imam of Pangu Gari, Alh Umar Musa Danladi who gave the advice in an interview with Newsmen in Minna, said this had became imperative to prevent the lingering crisis for peace to reign in the area.

Alhaji Umar Musa Danladi maintained that he inherited the over seventy five hectares of farmland from his late father some ten years ago and that it is his wish to also leave the said farmland for his children to inherit from him.

The Chief Imam who went memory lane recalled that it took the intervention of a Sharia Court landmark judgement in the area to separate him from another person that has erected a shop in the farmland, as well as his case with SC/Teg/Cr_ 25/2024 against the District Head and seven others in which he won last year.

According to him, his continued harassment by the District Head of Tegina, Alhaji Garba Bako is more of committing a contempt of court which should be addressed immediately to foster lasting peace inline with the principles of fairness, transparency and  due diligence of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago led administration.

He however alleged that the District Head of Tegina Alh Garba Bako has given out some portion of the farmland belonging to him, to other farmers to farm and directed security agencies to arrest the Chief Imam of Pangu Gari and any of his family members sighted in the farmland.

Alhaji Musa Umar Danladi would also wants the Emir of Kagara, Alh Attahiru Gunna the second whom he described as a peace lover to further mediate in the farmland dispute to enable him regain what he said belongs to him as the rightful owner.

While calling on his family members to continue to remain peaceful and await the positive response and intervention of the Niger State Governor, and Emir of Kagara whom he said are people of proven integrity that believed in fairness and objectivity as their Hallmark.
