The Zamfara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its readiness to take disciplinary action against any member attempting to create discord within the party and its leadership at all levels.

In a statement issued in Gusau, the APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara, Yusuf Idris Gusau, reaffirmed the party’s commitment under the leadership of Tukur Danfulani to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and all respected state leaders.

Gusau dismissed recent statements attributed to Mansur Aminu Khalifa, describing him as an outsider with no official standing in the APC, either at the state or national level.

“For the avoidance of doubt and to refresh their memories, Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji and Mansur Aminu Khalifa were suspended from the party on March 17, 2024, for their disregard for constituted authority and party leadership”

“Mansur’s latest press release on March 24, 2025, further demonstrates his lack of respect for party rules, as he continues to engage in anti-party activities and other misconduct. They remain suspended and, therefore, have no rights to speak on behalf of the party at any level,” Gusau stated.

He also challenged Khalifa and his associates to clarify their claims of party leadership.

“If Mansur Khalifa claims to be the party secretary or that Isiaka Ajiya Anka is the party chairman in Zamfara, they should tell us when they were elected and sworn in”

“The legitimate party chairman, Tukur Umar Danfulani, was duly elected under the supervision of INEC through a national congress committee led by a respected party leader, Alhaji Kabiru Masari.”

Regarding the Ramadan relief packages distributed in Zamfara by key APC leaders, including Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and former governor and current Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Yusuf Idris Gusau emphasized that beneficiaries from across the state received cash, grains, and clothing materials.

“If Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji had carried out a similar initiative, it would have been known. But instead of providing evidence, Mansur hides behind vague claims that Jaji and his wife did it silently. If so, what about the beneficiaries? Were they told not to inform anyone?” Gusau questioned.

He further stressed that the APC constitution clearly defines the party’s leadership structure.

“In every APC-controlled state, the sitting governor is the leader. If there is no APC governor, the immediate past governor or, if applicable, the Minister from the state assumes leadership.

According to him in this case, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, as both the immediate past governor and the current Minister from Zamfara, remains the party leader.

Gusau accused Jaji’s support group of attempting to undermine the APC in Zamfara, despite the party’s role in facilitating Jaji’s re-election to the 10th National Assembly.

“Instead of appreciating the leadership that nominated and supported him, Jaji is working to destroy the party through anti-party activities, factionalism, and a smear campaign against the leadership.”

He also alleged that Jaji’s ultimate plan is to weaken the APC ahead of the 2027 presidential and gubernatorial elections, a move the current party leadership under Danfulani will resist at all costs.

“We have observed Jaji’s support group frequently engaging with opposition parties, including the PDP and SDP. Reliable information indicates that Mansur Khalifa led some members of Jaji’s group to a secret meeting in Kaduna with opposition figures to discuss a possible defection from the APC.”

Gusau concluded by criticizing the group’s recent statements.

“The rejoinder signed by Mansur Khalifa only exposed their lack of understanding of the party’s official communiqué, which commended those who remain loyal to the APC and recognize Tukur Umar Danfulani’s leadership. If they do not acknowledge the party leadership, why complain about decisions made by that same leadership?
