Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of two new Executive Secretaries to lead the Zamfara State Electricity Agency (ZEA) and the Zamfara Geographic Information System (ZAGIS).

The Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada, conveyed the approval in a statement issued through his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Suleman Ahmad Tudu. He stated that the appointments take immediate effect.

According to the statement, Muzammil Muhammad Idris has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Electricity Agency (ZEA), a newly established agency tasked with overseeing the state’s power policies and initiatives.

This follows the devolution of electricity generation and distribution in Nigeria under the new Electricity Law, which empowers states, companies, and individuals to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity.

Similarly, Dr. Jabir Haruna Abdulkareem has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of ZAGIS, an agency responsible for digitizing the land administration system in the state.

Governor Lawal expressed confidence in the capabilities of the appointees and urged them to demonstrate dedication, integrity, and innovation in their roles.

He emphasized the need for them to reposition their respective agencies to drive the overall development of Zamfara State in line with his administration’s rescue agenda.
