Kwara State Police Command says it has rescued an abducted victim, arrested key suspects, and recovered firearm .
In a statement the Police Public Relations officer,SP Adetoun Ejire -Adeyemi says on March 1, 2025, the command received an intelligence report on the abduction of Sule Saidu Ahuro at Fulani Camp by five armed men.
According to the statement a joint security team, including police detectives, hunters, and vigilantes, launched a rescue operation.
It says the gang was intercepted along the Babanla/Oreke axis, where they engaged operatives in a gun duel.
It explains that one abductor was neutralized, two were arrested, the remaining two escaped with gunshot wounds , adding that One AK-47 rifle and criminal charms were also recovered.
SP Adeyemi says the injured suspects who were later apprehended succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital.
It says efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects .
