The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has commissioned the renovated Argungu General Hospital in Argungu local government area of the state at the cost of over 970 million naira.

In a remark on the occasion of the commissioning, Governor Idris, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment towards improving healthcare service delivery to the people of the state.

The Governor emphasized that, the revitalization project aligns with his administration’s promise to provide accessible, affordable and quality healthcare service for all.

According to the Governor, General Hospital Argungu is one of the six health facilities undergoing comprehensive upgrades in the state.

He stated that, the projects focus on modernizing facilities and equipping hospitals with advanced medical technology and increasing human resources for improved service delivery.

The Governor, announced the installation of solar powered systems in the State Teaching Hospital to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply.

While urging the Ministry of Health and hospital management to ensure proper maintenance of the newly upgraded facility, the governor reaffirmed the State’s participation in the World Bank-funded IMPACT project, aimed at strengthening primary healthcare services as part of efforts to achieve Universal Health Coverage by 2030.

The Governor also directed the Ministry of Health for the removal of the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Argungu General Hospital, Dr. Emmanuel Ehiem with immediate effect over poor condition of the hospital and replace him with a competent hand who can manage the hospital professionally.
