Federal pensioners have agreed to stage a protest over the non-payment of accumulated arrears by PENCOM and PTAD, despite repeated assurances over the years.

The retired workers, in various comments on the lingering issue, expressed dismay that the seven hundred and fifty-eight billion naira recently approved by President Bola Tinubu has yet to be disbursed.

They emphasized the urgent need for the relevant authorities to expedite action on the payment to alleviate their suffering, which has been aggravated by their inability to meet normal family responsibilities.

One of the retirees, Alhaji Suleiman Yahaya expressed optimism that action would be taken as done by military and police pensioners.

Alhaji Suleiman Yahaya expressed the hope that Union leaders would do everything possible to ensure that retired workers receive the arrears without further delay to justify their patience.
