Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA) hosts its annual business breakfast with the theme “Building Partnerships for Inclusive Economic Transformation.” The event marked the unveiling of Kaduna’s inclusive business strategy, which aims to position the state as a hub for inclusive business development and economic growth.

The strategy, developed in partnership with the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and the ICR Facility, focuses on integrating low-income communities and vulnerable groups into the economic value chain. This initiative is expected to drive economic diversification and resilience, create jobs, and promote gender equality.

Kaduna State became the first pilot state to introduce an inclusive business strategy in Nigeria in 2022. The project has received technical support from ICR facilities, GIZ, EU, and other development partners. Efforts are now underway to upscale the strategy nationwide, with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment coordinating the process.

The initiative has four main goals. Establishing a conducive environment for inclusive business development is key. Driving economic diversification and resilience through inclusive business models is also crucial. Positioning Kaduna State as a hub for inclusive economic growth is another important objective. Lastly, upscaling the strategy nationwide will promote inclusive economic development across Nigeria.

The expected outcomes of this initiative include growth, competitiveness, and innovation across key sectors. Improved access to essential services, job creation, and advancement of gender equality are also anticipated.
