Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has urged beneficiaries of the State Constituency Empowerment Programme to make the most of the opportunity for self-reliance.

He made this call at the launch of the empowerment programme for the legislator representing Kaugama Constituency.

Malam Umar Namadi, who was represented by the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, said the constituency empowerment programme was designed to complement the state government’s 12-point agenda, which includes empowering citizens for socio-economic development at all levels.

He prayed for the gesture to impact positively on the lives of the 1,200 beneficiaries.

In his message to the occasion, Member representing Kaugama constituency in the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Sani Sale Zaburan, commended Governor Umar Namadi for the numerous projects and Programmes implemented in Kaugama local government area.

According to him, over 30 million naira was earmarked for the programme and the beneficiaries include small scale business owners, less privileged persons among others.

In a welcome address, the Chairman Kaugama Local Government Council Alhaji Usman Masaki Dansule, commended the executive and the legislative arm for initiating the programme which will go along way towards improving the economic status of the people at the grass root level.

Dansule therefore,urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds to improve their well-being.
