Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Kaduna state Chapter has reiterated commitment to partner with relevant bodies for useful initiative that improved the living standards of her members in the state.

The Kaduna State Acting Chairperson of the Association, Hajiya Sahura Jibrin stated this during a workshop and monthly Congress of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Kaduna State Chapter held at the NUJ Secretariat in Kaduna.

 

 

She explained that training and retraining of her members remains her top priority, hence the need for the workshop in partnership with Kaduna ADR center, multi -door court house, on self development.

According to her, the sensitization workshop was apt, as it helps to enlightened the women journalists on timely issues particularly in the areas of mental health, self- development and financial freedom.

In a paper presentation, Deputy Director Kaduna ADR center, multi door court house, on self development, Hajiya Sa’adatu Hamma called on the women journalists to focus on Self-development to improve themselves mentally, emotionally, professionally and socially.

 

 

Hajiya Sa’adatu Hamma who doubles as a Personal and Business Development Coach, in the paper tagged “self development for women: strategies for growth with minimal upheaval” explained that the continuous process of improving oneself, particularly those juggling careers, family and business can be over whelming.

She maintained that  with the right strategies, women can achieve personal and professional advancement while attaining stability in their relationships, jobs and businesses.

“By investing in ourselves, we create a ripple effect that benefits our families, workplaces, and communities,the future belongs to women who take charge of their growth—without fear and without sacrificing what truly matters”she said.

According to her the”paper explores practical approaches to self-development for women, emphasizing balance, time management, and strategic decision-making to ensure minimal disruption to their existing responsibilities”.

The resource person explained that many women face challenges such as cultural expectations, fear of failure, and financial constraints, however, by taking small, consistent steps, saying it is possible to achieve self-development without disrupting one’s current responsibilities.

 

 

 

Hajiya Sa’adatu noted that Self-development is not a luxury but a necessity for women seeking to maximize their potential and Call on the women journalists to take Action by Chosen one self-development goal to start.

On her part, Secretary of NAWOJ Zone A, Hajiya Daharatu Ahmed Aliyu expressed gratitude to God for making the monthly meeting, as well as the workshop a reality.

She Stressed that  the workshop was put together by the zonal office in collaboration with the Kaduna State Chapter of the Association, noting that the Zonal office hope to replicated such gestures in other states in the zone.

In an interview with some of the members present, they expressed joy with the training,adding that they will put the lessons learnt into practice.

The workshop featured training of local product manufacturing, sales of made in Nigeria goods among others.
