Governor Malam Umar Namadi today, Monday, officially flagged off the construction of the Kanya Babba (Kwanar Duzau)-Kankare-Ballada-Duzau-Danhill-Kyambo-Mundu-Goron Maje road.

The project, awarded at a cost of ₦6.3 billion, marks another significant step in the present administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing connectivity across the region.

Speaking at the event, Governor Namadi emphasized the importance of the road network in facilitating economic growth, improving access to essential services, and enhancing the livelihoods of local communities.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to delivering quality infrastructure that will stand the test of time.

According to him, the project once completed, is expected to boost trade, ease transportation challenges, and open up new economic opportunities for residents along the route.

Malam Umar Namadi said, the state government has awarded contract for the construction of forty seven new roads with a length of over nine hundred kilometres in the state.

He explained that works is ongoing in all the roads awarded for construction.

 

In his speech, the state Commissioner of Works and Transport Engineer Gambo S Malam said the kanya Babba,Duzau to Goron Maje road construction project was awarded at the contract sum of over Six billion naira.

Engineer Gambo Malam further explained that, the contract is awarded to a construction firm with a completion period of fourteen months.

Our Correspondent reports that, the project was flagged off by the state Minister of Education Professor Suwaiba Ahmed Babura.

Some of the dignitaries that attended the occasion include, the Jigawa State Deputy Governor Engineer Aminu Usman, Speaker of the state House of Assembly Alhaji Haruna Aliyu Dangyatum and Secretary to the State Government Malam Bala Ibrahim among others.
