Bandits have attacked Tsiga village in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State where they kidnapped a former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, retired Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga and eight others.
Reliable sources from the community disclosed this to Radio Nigeria in separate interviews as the police are yet to confirm the incident.
An eye witness narrated how the bandits in their dozens stormed the community on motorcycles at twelve midnight and immediately started searching for their targets.
“The streets were empty because it was already around 12 midnight, once they disembarked from the bikes, they started flashing torchlights to locate the houses of their targets in the town.
“About a dozen of them stormed Brigadier Tsiga’s house, the other kidnapped people were also targeted because the kidnappers went straight to their houses”, he said.
Our correspondent reports that Tsiga community has been attacked several times by armed bandits in the last seven years.
