Nikyob Traditional Council Extol Late Yahaya Kyama Legacies

 

 

The Nikyob (Kaninkon) Traditional Council has described the demise of Wazirin Kaninkon, Mr. Yahaya Kyama as a huge loss not only to Goska Community, but the entire Nikyob nation.

In a statement, Chief of Kaninkon, His Royal Highness, Tum Nikyob (1), Mallam, Tanko Tete says the late monarch was an embodiment of loyalty and dedication, whose steadfast commitment to the ideals of unity and peace were evident in his execution of statutory mandate.

It explains that the late Wazirin Kaninkon played a pivotal role in shaping the governance and cultural heritage of the Nikyob Chiefdom by ensuring that traditions were upheld and respected in line with the laid down procedures.

According to it, the chairman of the kingmakers was instrumental in fostering an environment where unity and mutual respect were paramount, in addition to his thoughtful decision- making, and strategic vision that contributed immensely to the peaceful coexistence within the Chiefdom and beyond.

The late monarch, according to the statement was a beacon of inspiration and selfless service that extended beyond political boundaries, placing him as a mentor, a guide, as well as pillar of strength for many.

Mallam Tanko Tete adds that, Late Elder (Gbed) Yahaya Kyama was a reflection of community development and empowerment, who often times spearheaded initiatives aimed at improving the lives of those around him.

Mr. Tete who prayed for the soul of the departed to have eternal rest, was optimistic that his vision for a united and harmonious Kaninkon Chiefdom will continue to inspire all sons and daughters of the Chiefdom with a view to achieving all inclusive growth and development.

Elder Yahaya Kyama who died on the 23rd January, after a brief illness was aged 78, and survived with a wife, nine children and many grand children.

He was buried on Saturday, February 1st at his country home, Goska in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government of Kaduna State.
