The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has expressed deep appreciation on behalf of his people to Mercy Corps a non governmental organizations (NGO) for their impactful interventions in Ketare District.

 

He made this remark during the launching and handing over of eight ambulatory service equipment mobile machines for animal vaccination to four project local government areas, namely Kankara, Danmusa, Jibia, and Batsari.

 

A Statement by the media aid and Sarkin Labarun Kanwan Katsina Jamilu Hashimu Gora explained that each Local government receives equipments aimed at improving veterinary healthcare services and supporting livestock farmers.

 

The District Head recalled Mercy Corps’ significant contribution to addressing water scarcity in the district through the construction of solar-powered boreholes in Ketare town, Kafarda, and Hurya communities.

According to him, These boreholes have provided residents with access to clean and sustainable water sources, easing the burden of water scarcity in these areas.

The Kanwan Katsina urged the people to use these facilities responsibly and to ensure regular maintenance to prolong their lifespan for the benefit of the communities.

The Kanwan Katsina commended the efforts of Mercy Corps and its partners, including the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), and the Katsina State Government, for their dedication to improving rural livelihoods and agricultural development in Katsina State.

During the event, the Commissioner of Agriculture Professor Ahmed Bakori, alongside other stakeholders, highlighted the substantial investment in the equipment and urged the beneficiaries to use it wisely and ensure its proper maintenance for long-term impact.

 

The Monarch assured Mercy corps and it’s partners of his full support and corporation for all their programmes and activities in Ketare District noting that his palace is always Open for any consultation and meeting to ensure peace and sustainable development in the District, Kankara Local Government and Katsina State in general.
