Jigawa State Ministry for Local Government and community development has directed the Directors Administration and General Services of the 27 Local Government areas to take over the affairs of administration of their Local Governments with immediate effect.
The State Commissioner of the ministry, Alhaji Ahmad Garba MK gave the directive in a statement issued to Radio Nigeria by the Public Relations officer, Alhaji Najib Umar.
The commissioner said that all the local government council secretaries, councilors and supervisory councilors, special advisers and assistants of the 27 local councils are relieved of their appointments.
Alhaji Ahmad Garba explained that the directive followed the expiration of tenure of the local government officials elected and appointees.
He congratulated the outgoing officials on the successful completion of their tenure and the contribution rendered for the development of their respective local councils.
The outgoing officials were also directed to immediately hand over all governments property to their predecessors.
