Justice Liman Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Kano State has ruled that ousted Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, is within his right to be heard.
Aminu Baba Dan Agundi, the kingmaker, had filed a case bordering on fundamental human rights, which is embedded in the broader power struggle unfolding within the Kano emirate.
This decision follows closely on the heels of another legal development, in which a Kano State High Court directed substituted service on Bayero and four other emirs.
The order was issued in response to a lawsuit filed by the Kano State Government, aimed at restraining them from exercising their duties and recognising themselves as emirs.
