Kaduna State Government has taken steps to develop a new Annual Performance Evaluation Report APER that will go with the current reality of civil servants in the state.

 

The Director Training and Labour Matters, Head of Service office, Alhaji Shehu Mohammad stated this during a workshop organized for Directors from all the MDAs in Kaduna.

 

He said the present administration of Governor Uba Sani has taken steps to reform the civil service performance for the development of the state.

 

According to Alhaji Shehu Muhammad the workshop was the continuation of the mandate of the government’s policy to boost the capacity of workers in the state.

“The past governments were using the old system of APER to get the performance of their workers but now the system has changed with the current policy of the present administration, the new APER would give the best performance of the civil servants in the state.

 

“The name of the new APER is Performance Management System PMS”.

 

In his paper presentation, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Mallam Bashir Mohammad said the new system performance managemant is better than the old one.

 

“We are not discarding  the old APER system completely but upgrading it to a new system that would get full information of a worker in every MDAs”. He said.

 

One of the participants from the Ministry of Justice, Director Public Prosecution, Mr. Irimiya Magaji Samson said the workshop was apted because would increase productivity of Kaduna State workers.

 

The workshop would last for two days.
