Troops of One Division of the Nigerian Army deployed at a blocking position at Udawa have carried out a fighting patrol along Udawa to Kurebe road in Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna State.

According to a statement by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, One Division Kaduna, Lt Colonel Musa Yahaya,  during the aggressive patrol, the  troops made contact with the terrorists and succssfully neutralised five of them.

Similarly, troops of the division deployed at Sabon Birni in Igabi LGA intercepted suspected movement of terrorists at Baka general area and engaged them with superior firepower thereby fleeing to nearby hills in disarray with several degrees of gunshot wounds.

Furthermore, while lying in wait at Kwaga village in Birnin Gwari LGA, troops made contact with terrorists and neutralised two of them.

Some items recovered in the operations include one pump action gun, six cartridges, one AK 47 rifle magazine, two motorcycles, among others.

According to the statement, General Officer Commanding One Division and Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH, Major General Landers Saraso has commended the troops for their aggressive posture and charged them to sustain the tempo and make life unbearable for the terrorists and their cohorts.

He equally appealed to all law abiding citizens to report persons seen with gunshot wounds seeking medical attention to the Nigerian Army or nearest security agencies.

The statement appeals to the people Kaduna and Niger States to avail the Army and other security agencies with timely and actionable intelligence for prompt action.
