Kano state government KNSG says it has created the new ministry of power and renewable energy to address energy needs in the state.

Kano state Head of Service Alhaji Abdullahi Musa disclosed this during a stakeholders meeting in Kano.

According to him, government would do everything within its power to support the new ministry which would go a long way in reducing the relocation of industries due to power shortages.

He pointed out that, energy would be harnessed through Independent Power Projects (IPPs) in Chalawa and Tiga Dam.

Alhaji Abdullahi stressed that power shortage would soon become history as modalities were put in place by the state government to turn the independent power project (IPP) into reality.

Speaking on the welfare of civil servants, the head of the service maintained that, the state was committed to improving relationships between government and workers to achieve the desired objectives.

Recall that during the 2024 May Day celebration, the state governor Abba Kabir Yusuf represented by his deputy Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo KNSG explained that his administration is dedicated to prompt payment of salaries and pensions, as well as the introduction of worker’s housing scheme.

He also appealed to civil servants to rededicate themselves  to their duties to achieve the desired objectives.
