Journalists Partner SFCGN To Promote Peace In Kaduna

Network of Peace Journalists Kaduna, NPJK says it’s committed to partner Search For Common Ground Nigeria, SFCGN, to strengthen peace and unity in the state via peace reportage.

NPJK President, Ibrahima Yakubu stated this during a courtesy visit to Search for Common Ground Nigerian office in the State.

He said, the two groups shared similar values, hence the collaboration through sensitization and awareness campaign in their reportage to promote peace and harmony among the diverse communities in the State.

Mr. Yakubu applauded Search for Common Ground Nigeria for it’s initiatives in view of its impact to the state, saying the joint effort would strengthen inclusive tolerance among the residents regardless of tribe or religion.

The German International Radio Reporter pointed out that, the partnership was targeted at leveraging on the strength of both organizations in conflict prevention via early warning detection to foster tolerance, respect and understanding within the state.

Project Manager of SFCGN under the Inclusive Religious Engagement in Nigeria Enhanced by Women, I-RENEW Project Mr. Williams Ubimago said the initiative sought to empower women religious leaders and youth activists to promote Freedom of Religion or Believe, FORB in Kaduna and Plateau.

Mr. Ubimago who expressed appreciation to NPJ for it’s commitment to peace building, assured them of his support in sustaining the partnership to achieve the needed objectives.

He added that, the partnership between them represented significant step towards promoting peace and harmony in kaduna state and the country at large.
