Former Military Head of State Asks Wealthy Individuals to Support Less Privilege

Former Military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar has urged Nigerians especially the Muslim faithfuls to Imbibe the tenants of Islam by assisting one another irrespective of ethnic sectional and religious affiliation to ameliorate their hardship.

The former Head of State gave the advice in an interview with Newsmen after prayers  to mark the end of Ramadan fast at the Eid prayer ground in Minna the Niger state capital.

General Abdulsalami Abubakar expressed optimism that Nigeria would bounce back and command it’s respect in the comity of nation’s and implored Nigerians to remain steadfast.

He emphasized that the country had experienced relative peace within the period of Ramadan fast while calling on such spirit to be sustained to ensure peace reign in Nigeria.

Also the Niger State Head of Service, Engineer Salisu Abubakar who led government delegation to the prayer session called on Muslims to Imbibe the teachings and lessons of the month of Ramadan by upholding the lessons learnt.

He urged Nigerlites to be prayerful on the challenges confronting the state, Nigeria and world over for God intervention to overcome such challenges.

Similarly, a former Niger State Governor Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu cautioned Muslims against engaging in negative vices such as armed robbery, cattle rustling and kidnapping saying that such acts violate the true teachings of Islam.

In his sermon after the Eid El Fitr prayer Chief Imam Minna Central mosque Malam Ibrahim Isa Fari reminded wealthy Muslims on the need to support the poor to ameliorate their hardship.
