Jigawa Allocates N1.2b Subsidy for 2024 Hajj Pilgrims Amidst Increased Fare

Jigawa State Executive Council has approved the release of One Point Two Billion Naira as a subsidy to the state 2024 Hajj intending pilgrims to mitigate the increased Hajj fare as approved by the Federal Government.

The State Commissioner for Information, youths, sports and culture Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the council meeting held at government house, Dutse.

He explained that, over five hundred and thirteen million naira was requested for approval to settle payments related to government sponsored seats and an additional eighty four approved official seats for the 2024 Hajj Operation.

Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed said, the Council sanctioned the signing of MOUs, Development of a Solar Power Plant between Jigawa State Government and two other companies.

Establishment of a Small-Scale Bottling Plant between Jigawa State Government and a private company.

These MOUs were presented by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Renewable Energy.
