The Headquarters of Jamaatu Izalatil Bidiah Waikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Jos, Plateau State, has realised over 1.3 million naira to provide palliatives to orphans and vulnerable individuals in Minna, Niger State, during Ramadan fasting to alleviate their suffering.

Speaking during the closing of this year’s Tafsir at the late Malam Ladan’s house in Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State, the National Chairman Council of Ulama of JIBWIS, Ash Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir, said the gesture was aimed at bringing succor and relief, as well as enabling them to celebrate Eid comfortably.

Represented by Sheikh Abdulsalam Abubakar Jega who presided over the tafsir, the National Chairman Council of Ulama stressed the need for wealthy individuals to always assist the poor to enhance their living condition.

Ash Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir also urged Muslims to put into practice what they have learnt during the Ramadan period for the overall development of society.

The clergyman, however, explained that this year’s Tafsir, with over six hundred centers, had contributed immensely to positively impacting the much-needed religious values among Muslim faithfuls, towards achieving the desired objective.

In his remark, the Chairman Committee on Tafsir Alh Ibrahim Abdullahi Dumus thanked those that have contributed generously to the success of  the annual project and prayed Allah to reward them abundantly.

Alh Ibrahim Abdullahi Dumus said some of the items purchased for distribution includes thirty two number of ten kg bags of maize, thirty seven bags of rice, seventy one pieces of wrappers and twenty one ready made cloth among others.

Speaking, the Emir of Minna Dr Umar Faruk Bahago advised traders to always reduce the prices of their goods during Ramadan to assist the less privileged persons and attract the blessings of Allah.

Represented by the Cika Soron Minna, Alhaji Suleiman Yahaya Babangida, the Emir also admonished members of the Niger State Committee for the Distribution of Palliatives to discharge their duties with the fear of Allah.

He advised the state government to come up with another method of distributing palliatives to achieve maximum results.
