Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed one thousand seven hundred officers and men to provide water-tight security for a hitch-free Easter celebration in the state.

The Commandant, Mr Okafor Joachin stated this in a statement issued to Newsmen by the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, DSC Mohammed Rabiu Muti in Minna.

Mr Okafor Jaochin however, directed the Corps to redouble efforts in safeguarding lives and properties through effective surveillance activities and foot vehicular patrols across the 25 LGAs to forestall any breach of peace.

According to him, the 1500 personnel will be deployed to monitor strategic areas in the state such as churches, motor parks, recreational centers, and critical national assets and government infrastructure in Niger State.

Commandant Okafor Jaochin also called on Nigerlites to report any suspicious activities to the Corps or other sister security agencies for necessary action.

He further directed all the Area Commanders, Divisional officers and all Operational Commanders to ensure the safety of  members of the public during, and after the celebrations.
