Katsina State Governor Mal Dikko Umar Radda has been commended for his commitment to boast irrigation farming in the state.
Kanwan Katsina, District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello in a press release says the provision of solar powered water pumping machines provided by the government has brought ease to the farmers compared to petrol powered.
He further said the initiative would attract many youth to venture into irrigation farming to become self-employed and boast food production in the state.
Alhaji Usman Kankara assured to use his district head office to encourage youth to venture into irrigation farming in his domain, considering the fact that the famous Mashigi Dam is located within the area which attracts irrigation famers from all over the area.
He also applauded Katsina State Government in the fight against insecurity, requested for additional security base in Mashigi Dam to secure the area in a bid to improve irrigation activities.
