Kwara State: Court Fixes Trial For Alleged Killers Of Hotelier

Kwara state High Court sitting in Ilorin, presided over by Justice Haleemat Saleeman has fixed April 17th for trial of two ladies over alleged murder of the Manager of a Hotel , Adeniyi Ojo in Ilorin.

When the case came up, the suspects, Joy Adanma Joseph (22) and her friend, Favour David (23) , pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Addressing the suspects who wept continuously while in the dock, the trial judge told them to “stop crying and speak up for proper record of their plea”.

According to the charge sheet, they were accused of culpable homicide punishable with death under the Penal Code.

The charge sheet also accused them of conspiring to rob the deceased of his handset among others while armed with knives.

Attorney General of Kwara State, Ibrahim Sulyman and Issa Zakari, a chief state counsel, are representing the state in the matter.

The suspects were represented by John Mayokun Dada.
