Kwara Assembly Passes Six Bills,Thirty Motions In Nine Months- Leader

Kwara State House of Assembly says it has passed a total of six bills and 30 motions in the last nine months of inauguration of the current Tenth Assembly.

The Leader of the House, Barrister Abdulkadir Oba – Magaji, stated this while speaking with Newsmen in Ilorin.

The House was inaugurated in June 2023 following a proclamation from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

According to him some of the bills passed included Rural Access Road Law, Local Government Electoral Law (Amendment), Environmental Law (Amendment), Education Trust Fund Law (Amendment), 2024 Appropriation Law and one other.

He noted that Governor AbdulRazaq had assented to the affected bills after their passage on the floor of the state House of Assembly.

Abdulkadir Oba Magaji explained that several motions that have immediate and positive impact on the people have been moved and passed.

The House leader noted that an amendment was effected on the state environmental law to ensure commensurate penalty for environmental related offences .

Magaji maintained that the relationship between the executive and the legislature has given birth to dividends of democracy for the people.
