Gov Uba Sani Kickstarts 327km Road Project Connecting Key Areas in Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has flagged off the construction of a 327 kilometers road linking College Road Anguwan Dosa to Mashigi, stretching down to Eastern Bypass of Millennium City.

He also performed the constructions of Nurus Suraj Unguwan Dosa New Extension Layout and 15 Span Dual Carriage Bridge linking College Road to Mashigi up to Eastern Bypass of Millennium City, IBB Way, and MKO Abiola Way.

Governor Uba Sani while performing the ground breaking in Kaduna said the State Rural transportation programme was being executed concurrently with the upgrade of infrastructure in urban areas.

He explained that, the road would cut across Igabi, Kaduna North and Chikun Local Governments, adding that the 327 kilometers includes the main road linking College Road, Anguwan Dosa to Millennium City and other feeder roads within the various districts.

Malam Uba Sani pointed out that during the construction period, employment opportunities would be created for skilled, semi – skilled and unskilled labour.

According to him, when it completed, the road will ease movement of people and goods.

“Today’s event brings to 21 the number of roads I have performed their groundbreaking across our local governments since assumption of office. About 827 kilometers of roads are currently under construction”

He added that, his government was determined to make Kaduna State a business hub in the North and a choice destination for investors.

In her welcome address, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State Dr Hadiza Balarabe said the Nurus Suraj Unguwan Dosa New Extension Layout symbolizes Governor Uba Sani administration’s effort to open up new districts by utilizing private sector capital to provide primary and secondary roads, power supply, waste management systems, amongst many other things.

According to her, the state government believed in supporting the private sector and providing enabling environment to drive economy towards more efficiency and better performance.

Dr Balarabe explained that, the project was expected to cost huge amount of money and would provide employment opportunities for over 2000 of its citizens with the ripple effect on improved human capital development.

“We are honoured to inaugurate the construction of the 15 Span Dual Carriage Bridge linking College Road to Mashigi, extending down to the Eastern Bypass of Millennium City.

She maintained that, the bridge when completed would not only enhance connectivity within the city but also facilitate smoother transportation, thereby fostering further economic growth and improving the quality of life of people.

Furthermore, the rehabilitation and expansion of IBB Way and MKO Abiola Way emphasised the Kaduna State government unwavering resolve to modernize it road infrastructure network.

Dr Hadiza Balarabe also extended her sincere appreciation to all stakeholders involved in making the projects a reality, including government agencies, private sector partners, community leaders, and the hardworking men and women who will labor tirelessly to bring these visions to fruition.
