KNSG To Support TCN To Boost Electricity Supply – Commissioner

Kano State government has reiterated its commitment, in harnessing all avenues, that would boost electricity supply for industrial development.

The Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye made the indication, while receiving the AGM of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano regional office.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director Internal Affairs, Kano state Ministry of Information, Usman Bello and made available to Radio Nigeria in Kano.

The Commissioner noted that the governor Abba Kabir would provided all the necessary intervention to TCN to complete its various projects across the state.

He noted that no responsible government would ignore the opportunity to enhance electricity supply to its people, due to its strategic importance in boosting economic activities in the state.

Dantiye assured the AGM of the ministry’s support in enlightening the general public on its activities.

Earlier in his speech, the AGM Kano regional office muhammad Kamal Bello said, they were at the ministry to solicit for support in executing projects.

He revealed that, Kano State has only two transmission lines while other states are using eight.

The AGM stressed that, there are various transmission, and sub station projects that are under execution for over eight years.

Muhammad enumerated some of the impediments to the projects which includes encrochment of transmission lines, and right of way which militates against the expansion of the lines.

He then called on the state government to intervene towards execution of the projects.
