Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni wants the State Committee on Palliatives to mobilize resources for immediate distribution to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.

In a statement by the Governor’s media aide, Mamman Mohammed, the Governor requested the committee to mobilize resources at the disposal of the state government to support the people.

“The Committee has commenced work, It is going to be comprehensive and total, with priority attention given to those who truly deserve the support,” he said.

He explained that the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has commenced the distribution of food materials to persons with disability.

He assured them of government support in other critical sectors like transport, and continue with its empowerment programmes, as well as providing accessible and affordable healthcare delivery and education among others.

Governor Buni warned that government would not tolerate any act of sabotage that would hinder the intervention or deny the people the needed support.
